The Problem That Started It All
Hi, I'm Osho Chawla, founder of Zuco. Like many of you, I'm a pet parent trying to balance work, travel, and the well-being of my beloved pet. My 5-month-old cat Zuzu is social, playful, and deeply attached to me. But every time I needed to travel - whether for work trips, family emergencies, or weekend getaways - I faced the same anxiety: where would Zuzu stay?
Traditional kennels felt wrong. The thought of Zuzu in a cage, stressed and surrounded by barking dogs, broke my heart. Friends and family weren't always available, and I couldn't shake the worry about her safety and comfort. I knew there had to be other pet parents nearby who understood what I was going through - people who would care for Zuzu the way I would. But there was no easy way to find them.
Building Zuzu's Community
That's when I realized: if I'm struggling with this, thousands of other pet parents in Bangalore are too. What if we could create a trusted community where neighbors help neighbors? Where pet parents who genuinely love animals could care for each other's pets? Where Zuzu could stay in a real home, with someone who treats her like family?

As a senior software engineer with over 8 years of experience building products at top tech companies, I spent my career solving complex problems for other people's businesses. But when I couldn't find a solution for Zuzu's care, I realized this problem was too important to ignore. In December 2025, I left my stable tech job to build Zuco full-time, launching it to the public in January 2026. People thought I was crazy - giving up a good salary and 8+ years of engineering expertise to solve a "pet problem." But for millions of pet parents like us, this isn't just a problem - it's anxiety, guilt, and worry every time we travel. I knew I could build something better, something that actually understood what pet parents need.
